Position Overview Tenure-track Faculty Position in Mechatronic Systems Engineering Position Details The School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE) at Simon Fraser University (SFU), British Columbia, Canada, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in mechatronic systems engineering. Relevant areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to robotics, medical or biomechatronic systems, smart manufacturing, sensors and actuators, engineering design, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligenceassisted systems, and agritech. Faculty salaries at SFU are based on the salary scales bargained between the University and the SFU Faculty Association. A reasonable estimate of the salary range at the Assistant Professor rank is $104,700 - $158,322 (subject to experience and inclusive of Market Differential). The successful candidate must have their PhD by the employment start date; however, PhD candidates with solid indication of imminent completion may be hired at the rank of Instructor and will be promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor upon completion of the PhD. Qualifications Ph.D. (completed or imminent) in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related areas. Demonstrated potential for research excellence in the targeted areas through publications, awards, grants, or other forms relevant to the research domain. Evidence of excellence or commitment to excellence in teaching engineering courses and supervising graduate students. Ability or potential to develop interdisciplinary collaborations. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Excellent communication skills and commitment to a teambased working culture.
