You will define and deliver the strategic and operational goals for the FC QV team, report to the QA Development Director, and partner directly with the Producer and/or other Designers to agree on strategies. You will apply these practices to the PC player experience, ensuring high-quality feel across common PC hardware, operating systems, monitor/VRR setups, anticheat, and platform integrations (Steam, EA app, Epic).Your ResponsibilitiesQuality Strategy and Test PlanningEnd-to-end ownership of quality strategies and proposing tactical solutions.Understand and articulate trends within a relevant gaming community.Incorporate player/user feedback from partner groups into quality assessments and strategies.Use problemsolving techniques, such as hypothesis setting and testing.Use change control processes to measure the impact of evolving quality strategies.Accountable for the identification, escalation and mitigation of risks in your focus area.Build a PC coverage plan (top GPUs/CPUs, OS/driver combinations, storage, monitor/HDR/VRR, peripherals/input devices).Define clear acceptance criteria for PCspecific features (display modes, graphics settings, upscalers, controller/KBM, accessibility) and platform flows.Translate PC community signals (forums/reviews/tickets) into reproducible test cases and milestone checklists.Quality and Data AnalysisInterpret data from numerous sources to produce clear, relevant information, informing decisions to improve product quality and QA service delivery.Translate project metrics into datadriven decisions and strategies.Provide concise evidence for PC issues (repro steps, short clips, logs/minidumps) and validate fixes across representative hardware bands.Collaboration and CommunicationWork with other team members and partners to solve problems and improve processes.You advocate for the player experience, influencing positive change in game experiences.Ensure processes and strategies are aligned with organisational goals.Be the QA representative in meetings, offering insights, leading quality discussions, sharing information, and identifying potential risks.Mentorship and Team SupportProvide input to assist management teams in decisionmaking.Mentor and support team members in implementing quality strategies.Lead improvements and knowledge sharing across teams.Our RequirementsExperience and Knowledge7+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design.Deep familiarity with PC gaming ecosystems: Windows OS, drivers, monitor/refresh/VRR/HDR setups, and anticheat considerations.Knowledge of PC platform integration (Steam, EA app, Epic) and PCfirst player expectations in AAA.Indepth understanding of quality assurance techniques, frameworks, and methodologies.Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).Experience in AAA game development/Live Services is desirable.5+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience.Expertise in data analysis tools, demonstrating advanced proficiency and knowledge expansion.Experience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).Experience planning and executing a test strategy and tasks using Scrum/agile process.Skills and AbilitiesAnalytical and problemsolving skills.Translate project metrics into datadriven decisions and strategies.Passion for creating highquality player experiences.Excellent collaboration and communication.Familiar with and proficient in user research methodology.Ability to isolate PC variables (drivers, OS updates, graphics settings, overlays) and produce clear, evidencebased bug reports.Path to Becoming a Quality DesignerLearn more about the Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team at EA.From Government to Game Development, Jessica Makes a Move.
