The role offers handson experience contributing to all phases of project execution including planning and design while developing core structural engineering technical competencies pertaining to marine infrastructure.Your Key ResponsibilitiesProvide structural EIT support to engineers on varying sized projects.Assist in reviewing drawings, drafting technical reports, memorandums and other technical documents.Conduct material quantity takeoffs, analysis / calculations, hand sketches, CAD Drafting, and other EIT support tasks.Perform contract administration, coordination, contract development and other contract support tasks.Support Project Manager(s) / Director(s) in project delivery through initiation, planning, execution, monitor and control, and closeout activities and other PM support tasks.Participate and coordinate project team activities and interact effectively with Clients, Contractors, Engineers, Project Managers, and other consultants.Coordinate and participate in technical proposal writing and other business development activities.With guidance, assist with the preparation and distributions of high quality, accurate and timely documents such as : agendas, reports, minutes, communication logs, change management, and other required documentation.Some travel to project sites may be required from time to time.Your Capabilities and CredentialsStrong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, technical writing, presentation, and other software including MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.Strong understanding of engineering design.Experience with structural analysis tools including SAP2000.Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.General understanding of a project lifecycle including design and construction processes and requirements.Excellent organizational skills, time management, and problemsolving abilities.Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and technical documentation.Experience in Risk Management considered an asset.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.Education and ExperienceBachelors degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field.1-3 minimum years of relevant work experience in a professional environment.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
