The Opportunity:Our client is part of a major Canadian industrial services and supply organisation, and we are pleased to be supporting their Western Canada operations with the addition of a Variable Frequency Drive Field Technician. They are leaders in their space, and have many accolades as an employer.In this role you will be responsible for providing quality work, service and technical support to end customers by travelling throughout the assigned service area in Western Canada. Day to day you will be testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and reconditioning all power related products sold by our client to a range of industries vital to Canada's economy.The successful candidate will need to be able to drive, as well having a valid passport enabling them to receive supplier training in the USA.What You'll Be Doing:Inspecting, testing, optimizing, maintaining and troubleshooting customers power components (VFDs)Communicating with equipment owners for authorization of servicing and repairs as requiredInterpreting engineering designs, drawings, wiring diagrams and specifications for relevant componentsSupporting sales teams by providing technical information, creating evaluation reports, and referring opportunitiesServicing and repairing equipment in house and on-site for the customerEstablishing and maintaining strong working relationships with customersCommunicating equipment servicing needs as required with Branch Supervisor/ManagerCommunicating work performed and completing service paperwork in a timely mannerParticipating in manufacturers and in house service trainingParticipating in all required Health & Safety Training, and complying with practicesWorking with Manufacturers online supportMaintaining a professional company image at all timesWhat You'll Need to Be Successful:Two-year technical diploma or equivalent 2+ years experience in a related position working on VFD or related power productsProficient written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with customers independentlyExceptional customer serviceDemonstrated mechanical aptitude, analysis and problem-solving skillsValid passport and ability to travel to the USA
