Nick Kanaan of Lock Search Group is proud to partner with a world-class fishing lodge in Haida Gwaii in the search for an experienced and highly motivated Assistant General Manager. Our client owns and operates luxury fishing lodge, offering unmatched saltwater fishing experiences paired with five-star hospitality in one of British Columbias most breathtaking coastal environments.This is a year-round, full-time position that includes seasonal relocation to Haida Gwaii from late April through September. During the off-season the role reports to the Greater Vancouver office. The Assistant General Manager will play a key leadership role in ensuring seamless lodge operations and exceptional guest experiences. Working closely with the leadership team, this individual will uphold the highest standards of hospitality, staff leadership, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Out of Season (September April) Richmond, BC OfficeGain a strong understanding of office operations, including booking systems, guest information workflows, and room/boat inventory processesSupport hiring and onboarding for seasonal lodge positions (dining room, front-of-house, bar/beverage, etc.)Assist in preparing and updating SOPs for guest services, lodge, and marine functionsParticipate in training planning and HR coordination, including basic medical protocol awareness and employment standardsContribute to preseason planning, inventory management, and procurementIn-season (May September) Haida GwaiiOversee day-to-day lodge operations in collaboration with the General Manager, ensuring a world-class guest experienceLead, coach, and schedule hotel staff; ensure clarity of roles and adherence to standard operating proceduresMaintain a positive, professional lodge environment; manage guest relations with discretion and timely follow-upAssist with lodge communications such as daily manifest postings, event updates, and guest information boardsManage hotel operations including dining, housekeeping, guest services, and beverage programsManage lodge ambiance, music, and playlists to enhance the overall guest experienceProvide polished guest announcements and presentations, including special events and guest chef introductionsOversee inventory for bar, wine cellar, linens, dining ware, and amenities, ensuring cost-effective procurementQualifications:Proven leadership experience in premium hospitality or resort management, ideally in a luxury remote environmentSuccessful history of operating in and leading teams through a demanding, fast-paced environmentDeep understanding of planning and delivering exceptional guest experiences consistent with luxury standardsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and POS systems (store and restaurant)Excellent organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with a passion for guest serviceDemonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and cultivate a professional, positive cultureFamiliarity with HR processes including onboarding, training, and employee relationsAdaptable, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic seasonal workplaceIf you meet the qualifications and are open to working in Haida Gwaii for a portion of the year, please send your resume to Nick Kanaan using the Apply button.https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-kanaan-06024542Thank you in advance for your interest, only individuals deemed to have the skill set and experience to fit the role will be contacted.
