Our client, a respected employee-owned consulting firm known for its innovative and practical approach to mine water management and site planning, is seeking an Intermediate Mine Site Modeling Specialist to join their growing team in Vancouver, BC, Vernon, BC, or Calgary, AB.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer or scientist who enjoys hydrology, mine water systems, and data-driven modeling. Youll collaborate with senior engineers and hydrologists to build and refine GoldSim water balance models that guide mine planning, operations, and environmental permitting across Western Canada.Further Responsibilities Include the FollowingDevelop and maintain GoldSim water balance models to support mine water management, site planning, and permitting.Collect, review, and interpret climate, hydrology, and site infrastructure data to inform model inputs and assumptions.Run simulations, conduct sensitivity and uncertainty analyses, and translate results into actionable recommendations for clients.Prepare clear technical documentation, figures, and reports outlining modeling methods, assumptions, and findings.Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams civil, environmental, and hydrological specialists to integrate modeling outcomes into engineering designs.Support field programs and site assessments as required.Contribute to the continuous improvement of modeling workflows, tools, and templates.Participate in client meetings and technical discussions under the mentorship of senior project leads.Ideal Candidate RequirementsBachelors or Masters degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mining Engineering, Hydrology, or Geoscience.Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in hydrology, water resources, or environmental modeling (mine water experience preferred).P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation, or eligibility for registration with EGBC or APEGA.Proven experience using GoldSim for water balance or system modeling; experience with probabilistic or stochastic modeling is an asset.Understanding of mine water systems, infrastructure, and environmental permitting processes in BC or Alberta.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.Collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and accountability.Willingness to occasionally travel to mine sites or remote locations for project work.Why This FirmEmployee-owned firm with a reputation for practical, reliable solutions to complex mine water challenges.Work alongside senior specialists in mine water management and hydrology.Gain exposure to advanced modeling tools and real-world mine applications.Hybrid work environment and flexible schedule options.Competitive salary, annual bonus, and share ownership opportunities.Comprehensive benefits including extended health, dental, vision, and wellness programs.Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume in Word format to this posting or email .
