About the JobA leading building envelope contractor with over 90 years of industry experience is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their Surrey-based team. This is a fully onsite position supporting multiple construction projects across the region, with a MondayFriday schedule (6:30 a.m.3:30 p.m.).The RoleThe selected candidate will support the Health & Safety Manager in delivering and advancing company-wide safety initiatives. This person will work directly with site teams, subcontractors, and project management to strengthen safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture. The role includes field inspections, program development, incident management, and participation in safety committee activities.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct onsite safety inspections, evaluations, and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance and hazard mitigation.Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, procedures, and site-specific plans including Fall Protection and Emergency Response.Support incident management, including WCB claims, modified work programs, and trend analysis for continuous improvement.Deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks while maintaining COR certification and supporting internal audits.Monitor subcontractor compliance, maintain safety records and accreditations, and participate in JHSC meetings.Qualifications35 years of Health & Safety experience within the construction industry; experience with roofing, waterproofing, cladding, or glazing is an asset.NCSO designation or working toward certification, with strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and COR requirements.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and experience using safety management platforms such as SiteDocs.Understanding of fall protection systems, boom lifts, swing stages, and chemical safety.Valid drivers license with the ability to travel to active job sites as needed.
