This is an opportunity to work on exciting and creative projects while mentoring a talented and dedicated team of professionals.About Our OpportunityReporting to Team Lead, Electrical, you will be an integral part of EastPoints engineering team, developing and implementing technical solutions in both the office and field. Working with an experienced design team, you will participate in all project phases, from concept to detailed design, through to tendering, construction, and commissioning. Primary AccountabilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Participating in concept and detailed design of electrical systems for projects in sectors including but not limited to Buildings, Industrial, Institutional, and Utilities.Participating in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications from the concept design phase through to construction completion.Support electrical engineers in the design and development of power distribution, lighting, communications, and control systems for commercial, industrial, and utility projects.Prepare detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings, models, and documentation following EastPoint standards and project requirements.Perform electrical calculations such as demand, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting levels for engineering review.Conduct site visits to gather field data, verify existing conditions, perform measurements, and support construction administration activities.Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submissions and prepare recommendations or clarifications for engineering review.Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams (civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, automation) to ensure design alignment and resolve clashes or integration issues.Maintain project documentation, drawing revisions, and design records in accordance with EastPoint procedures and quality standards.Participate in internal design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, workflows, and templates.Support commissioning activities, including planning and oversight of functional and integrated systems performance testing.Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project expectations, timelines, and deliverables are met.Adhere to safety policies, engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to project work.Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and French.Skills / Training RequirementsA Diploma in electrical engineering technology from an accredited college is required.Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with TechNova (Nova Scotia) or able to obtain registration with TechNova by transferring from another jurisdiction.An ability to obtain a minimum of Reliability status through CISD within six (6) months. This is a requirement for employment. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or BIM workflows for electrical systems is required.Ability to create and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, panel schedules, and construction drawings.Knowledge or experience with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and relevant industry standards.Experience with electrical calculations (load, voltage drop, fault current, lighting) would be an asset.Familiarity with design software such as SKM PTW, AGi32, or PLS-CADD would be an asset.Competence in reading and understanding multidisciplinary engineering drawings (architectural, mechanical, civil, structural).Experience with field investigation, data collection, site verification, and basic commissioning tasks.
