Mine Permitting ManagerBCWe are seeking an experienced and resourceful Mine Permitting Manager to join our clients team. This is a pivotal role in advancing one of British Columbias most exciting steelmaking coal projects, contributing to regional economic growth while upholding the highest environmental standards.This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to shape the permitting strategy for a major project while working alongside an experienced leadership team that values open communication, autonomy, and collaboration.PERKS AND BENEFITS:Competitive salary range of $175,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience$10,000 in benefits equivalent (health and wellness coverage)Relocation support if necessaryHybrid work environment based in Vancouver (3 days/week in office)Small, high-impact team environment that values initiative, adaptability, and open communicationWHAT YOULL BE DOING:Guide the project through complex regulatory processes to secure required permits and approvals for exploration, development, operation, and closureEnsure full regulatory compliance with provincial, federal, and local mining and environmental legislationCoordinate permit applications, submissions, and tracking (e.g., Mines Act, water use, environmental approvals)Develop and maintain high-quality documentationincluding environmental assessments, closure plans, and technical reportsEngage stakeholdersacting as a liaison with government agencies, Indigenous Nations, and multidisciplinary internal teamsIntegrate input from engineering, geology, and environmental specialists to ensure alignment with permitting and project schedulesConduct monitoring and auditing to verify compliance with permit conditions and identify corrective actionsAdvise senior management on regulatory risks, strategic options, and evolving permitting requirementsWHAT YOU BRING:Bachelors degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related fieldExperience in mining permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental managementProven experience permitting mining projects from start to finishStrong background in Indigenous engagement and regulatory consultationExceptional communication and negotiation skillsSkilled at developing options and strategic pathways to move permitting processes forward efficientlyCollaborative mindset, works effectively with engineering, admin, and operations teamsWHY JOIN:This is a rare opportunity to join a major project at a formative stage, where your expertise will directly shape permitting outcomes and long-term project success.
