Job Description

Position Overview: The Photographer Digital Content supports the DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) and The Shoe Co retail brand businesses in Canada, playing an important role in the creation of high-quality product listing assets and related digital marketing content for both brands. Reporting into the Art Director, this role works closely with the marketing, ecommerce, and merchandising teams to ensure that the photography assets align with the business priorities while also meeting brand''s aesthetic and quality standards. The individual will take merchandise photography at stores leveraging mobile studio capabilities and at the in-house studio at head office. Photography deliverables include appropriately edited high quality pictures and/or video of merchandise from various angles against established specs. Additionally, this role manages foundational, primarily off model marketing photography and basic graphic design projects supporting the broader seasonal marketing content needs. Responsibilities include: Lead and manage all aspects of the product photography & video process adhering to provided guidelines. Assess digital imagery sources (e.g. vendor assets, DSW US asset bank) against business requirements to identify and prioritize needs. Manage the editing and retouching process to visually enhance images and ensure consistency across all product catalogue media assets. Including working with 3rd party support teams. Participate in seasonal marketing photoshoots primarily supporting the off model set. Manage basic in-house photography shoots supporting the day to day needs of the marketing content team collaborating with the art director to achieve compelling product compositions. Support the graphic design and social content teams with basic graphic design project needs Organize and maintain digital files, ensuring proper storage structures and naming conventions. Manage internal equipment and studio setting including upkeep post photoshoots. Requirements: Minimum 1+ years'' proven experience as photographer and media editor, preferably in ecommerce/retail setting A degree in photography, visual arts, or related field Proficiency in digital photography including lighting, composition, and camera operation.
