We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our construction team in Waterloo, Ontario. We are a progressive developer/builder of residential high rise; midrise and mixed-use developments located in Southwestern Ontario. Our ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys full responsibility for directing, organizing and controlling projects of varying size and complexity. You are a self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, outstanding communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership to the project team including project cost, schedule, safety and the productive effort needed to meet specific requirements and contractual obligations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring the project is completed in compliance with the contract requirements Advanced experience with field operations emphasizing on high return activities Responsible for managing the construction process, inclusive of defining project scope and identifying a critical path, defining key milestones, and leading the timing of each construction stage Prioritize, plan, and coordinate potential risks and technical challenges Liaise with partners, consultants, construction management team, building trades, building department and municipal staff Responsible for financial monitoring of the project. Knowledge and understanding the project and contract requirements, evaluating and approving construction methods Overall project planning, development of the construction plan, securing and maintaining all necessary insurance and permits Project organization and staffing, chair project start-up meetings, progress and sub trade meetings, scheduling, task definition and breakdown Equipment selection, budget/cost control system preparation, maintenance and forecasting Quality control planning and management, material procurement Safety planning, monitoring and management Ensuring project correspondence and records are properly managed and maintained Training of project staff, continued self-education and improvement QUALIFICATIONS: Construction-related degree or diploma (Construction Management, CET, Engineering Degree, etc.) an asset 5 years of construction experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor / Builder Experience as a Senior Project Manager building new ground-up high-rise and midrise residential projects and mixed-use developments with project values of $2MM and above Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong problem-solving skills Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program Extensive working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes Solid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and project management Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholder''s needs and identify solutions Capable of anticipating issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Bluebeam software Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver''s license
