Posting #: DFFSES-0125 Posting Date: November 14, 2025 Director Facilities, Food Services, and Environmental Services Permanent Full Time Position Summary: The Director Facilities, Food, and Environmental Services is responsible for assuming leadership responsibility for hospital facilities, environmental services, food services and parking and security functions. Primary Responsibilities: Develops and implements policies, procedures, systems, and monitors standards of performance/productivity in all departments. Promotes a positive labor relations environment in accordance to the collective agreement. Identifies, manages, and monitors department financial and quality goals and objectives. Maintains the functioning of the physical plant and ensures resources are managed effectively, inspects on a regular or periodic basis work completed by maintenance staff and contractors. Ensures work is performed in accordance with regulations/standards, fire codes, and hospital policy, and maintains and reviews plant shut down procedures and emergency response planning. Actively supports construction and space planning and liaises internally/externally as appropriate. Develops and implements a preventative maintenance program and adherence to the process. Oversees organization-wide activities related to the hospital''s Environmental Services. Leads the planning and implementation of sustainable solutions throughout the hospital. Oversees security and ensures that corrective follow up action is taken as required, ensuring regular inspections of grounds, parking areas, perimeter fencing and traffic concerns. Overseas capital, small renovation projects to deadlines and budget while acting as liason for with all internal and external stakeholders. Oversees optimal food production and delivery to patients and staff/visitors. Drives change to improve efficiency through short and long-term projects, and recommend departmental changes to improve quality and efficiency. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/experience: Baccalaureate degree in a health related field preferred Building Operator or Stationary Engineer Certification required Demonstrated strong knowledge in Fire standards and Ontario Fire Code required Certified by Workplace Health and Safety Agency required Minimum 3 years relevant healthcare leadership experience in clinical support services and environmental services required Demonstrated knowledge and experience with complex electrical, plumbing and mechanical maintenance, HVAC systems, expansions and renovations Expert problem-solving, dispute resolution and decision making skills Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to influence staff at all levels. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, database management, query tools and electronic staff scheduling.
