3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description The Subcontracts Specialist II is part of a team focused on the management of subcontracts to support new vessel construction. The role is focused on the subcontracting activities leading up to award which includes the management of the entire bid process, proposal analysis, the formation of the subcontract and all the activities associated with the post award administration of the subcontracts. The scope of the role includes serving as the primary point of contact for the sourcing of Vendor Furnished Information as required for the execution of one or more projects. The role requires the coordination of negotiations of standard subcontract business terms and conditions, ongoing administration of subcontract elements including milestones, deliverables, issues, action items and payments. Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employees will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement. What Youll Do Bid Process Management: managing the prequalification and selection of bidders, preparing and issuing Request for Proposal documents, supervising the bid process integrity, coordinating Q&A and addendums, conducting bid opening ceremonies, managing clarifications, coordinating technical & commercial evaluations, negotiating, and recommending awards. Subcontract Management: managing changes related to cost and schedule, monitoring and reporting on supplier progress, approving milestone payments, administering supplier claims, processing change orders, expediting deliverables, maintaining contractual registers, ensuring deliverables, managing supplier performance, and performing subcontract closeout. What Youll Bring A diploma or bachelors degree in engineering, Business, Science, Finance or Law. Minimum two years experience in procurement or contract administration, preferably in the shipbuilding industry. Professional certification or training through an accredited procurement society is desirable. Experience on capital project environments and proven track record managing multi-milliondollar subcontracts. Established procurement and negotiation skills, able to administer at least ten subcontracts following award, including change orders and risk mitigation. Strong negotiation, administrative, customer service and diplomacy skills. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work independently and as a key team member, with strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of materials management, expediting, quality surveillance and logistics.
