Description The Senior Advisor, Process Safety for the Transportation Business Unit (TBU) is a senior professional role responsible for leading and advising on all process safety related activities in TBU. The role supports the safe, reliable and compliant operations of IPLs Transportation assets. Key Activities and Responsibilities Collaborate with project, operational and engineering teams in coordinating and stewarding management of change (MOC) activities, including risk assessments and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) Support and/or facilitate Process Hazard Assessment (PHA) activities which may include what-if reviews, hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessment techniques Develop and maintain a database of historical PHA studies, including tracking the resolution of hazard assessment action items, and coordinate the revalidation of existing Facility process hazard assessments (PHAs) Lead the development and maintenance of technical standards, practices, and procedures as Owner of Process Safety documentation for TBU Provide oversight and guidance in maintaining Process Safety Information such as P&ID's, PFD's, Cause and Effect Diagrams, etc. Review and categorize TBU incidents relating to Process Safety, and facilitate or support investigation of Process Safety Events Support the implementation and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose operational risk management program that supports the TBU requirements and objectives Support the sustainment of Transportation Operations Management System ensuring compliance and providing oversight Education, Skills and Experience 12 or more years of related experience Certifications/degrees in Risk Management, Process Safety or Process Engineering are considered Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage work schedules and activities in a coordinated manner Attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to interpret and understand legislation and translate it to a diverse audience in the context of safety and risk management Experience facilitating Process Hazard Analysis techniques such as HAZOP, HAZID, What-if will be considered an asset Strong interpersonal skills confident, supportive, collaborative, respectful Hours Full Time, Monday Friday 8 hours per day As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of a criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
