Mechanical SupervisorLocation: Greater Kitchener Waterloo Region and various Ontario Project LocationsCompany OverviewWe are working with a leading General Contractor specializing in the delivery of mechanical, piping, and municipal construction projects throughout Ontario. The organization is committed to technical excellence, safe work execution, and high-quality infrastructure that supports the long-term needs of our clients and communities.Position SummaryThe Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field execution of mechanical and piping scopes on construction projects. This position provides leadership to site personnel, ensuring compliance with project plans, safety standards, budgets, and schedules. The Mechanical Site Superintendent plays a key role in coordinating subcontractors and maintaining effective communication between field operations, project management, and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and supervise all mechanical and piping construction activities on site in alignment with project specifications and company standardsPromote and enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and corporate safety policiesReview drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and work plans to verify accurate installation of systems and equipmentPlan, schedule, and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity and meet milestonesMonitor construction progress, maintain daily reporting, and support short- and long-range planning effortsOversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to contractual requirementsFacilitate communication among project stakeholders including clients, engineers, inspectors, and internal teamsSupport commissioning, testing, and turnover activities for mechanical and piping systems.Identify and escalate impacts to schedule, cost, or design while assisting in field issue resolutionMentor and guide site personnel to foster skill development, engagement, and adherence to performance expectationsQualificationsMinimum 5 years of mechanical construction experience with proven supervisory responsibilitiesExtensive knowledge of mechanical piping systems, equipment installation, and industrial construction practicesAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs433A Red Seal Millwright Certification OR Pipefitter Certification required Strong understanding of Ontario codes, standards, and health and safety regulationsProficient in construction documentation and reporting tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar)Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsValid G-class drivers licence and availability to travel to project sites across OntarioWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefitsProfessional development and long-term career growth opportunitiesA collaborative work environment dedicated to quality, integrity, and client satisfactionIf you are looking for a new opportunity to join a growing, fast paced, exciting company this could be your next career move!
