Topics include historical and contemporary shifts in the youth justice system, young offender legislation, public perceptions and media representations of juvenile delinquency, current research and theories on youth crime and crime prevention strategies. Particular attention is paid to the treatment of specific groups.Estimated course enrolment: 60Estimated TA support: 90 hours (subject to enrolment)Class schedule (Lectures): Wednesday 5 - 7pmSessional dates of appointment: January 1 - April 30, 2024Salary: Minimum stipend $9,457.89 for a Half course (inclusive of vacation pay)Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum qualification:Candidates must have at least an M.A. or equivalent in Sociology/Criminology or related discipline.
