Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Fire Safety Codes Officer to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary.Key Areas of Contribution: Inspect buildings, structures, tanks, construction sites and various facilities to detecthazardous condition or violations of fire codes and appropriate standards. Discuss and assist in the correction of deficiencies and unsafe conditions with area/facilityrepresentatives. Prepare and distribute inspection and investigation reports, maintain building files. Assist personnel with code interpretation and information when requested. Deliver fire prevention awareness training to company's employees and contractors. Review drawings and requests for alternative solutions and provide recommendations. Other duties as and when required.Qualifications: Alberta Fire Group B Level 2 qualification. Group B1 may be considered if working towards B2. Alberta Fire Group E qualification. Previous firefighting or emergency services experience considered an asset. Microsoft Office skills are essential including Micro Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio andOutlook.Personal Qualifications: Ability to work with diverse groups of professional teams. Efficient in multitasking. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Organized with attention to detail. Respect for confidentiality. Confident when speaking to large groups.
