Company Overview Third party recruiter for a direct hire position with a prominent food manufacturer in Mississauga located at Mississauga Rd. & Dixon. Summary As a Sanitation Lead Hand you will bring expertise and leadership to the department and play a critical role in ensuring plant facilities and equipment are cleaned and maintained ensuring strict compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulations. Optimize operational performance in this role Responsibilities Maintain area hygiene and sanitation schedules for plant lines and equipment. Disassembly and assemble equipment for routine cleaning and maintenance in compliance with LOTO. Train, support and motivate sanitation workers to maintain high-quality standards. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all cleaning tasks. Communicate effectively with team members and foster respect for diversity and inclusion. Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Report on operational performance and suggest improvements. Qualifications Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing setting (preferably food manufacturing) Mechanical aptitude ''handy person'' with the ability to safely use hand and power tools to disassembly/assemble equipment for routine cleaning and maintenance Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and LOTO Able to commit long-term to working Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (3 days per week) from 6 am-6pm (12 hour shifts) Good physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of a labour intensive role that requires prolonged standing, walking, repetitive movements, bending, reaching and lifting Good record of dependability with excellent punctuality and attendance Must possess reliable means of transportation to commute to location (location is TTC accessible but position requires early start) Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of safety procedures related to area hygiene and sanitation. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
