Job Description

Labourer Job Description Reporting to the Supervisor, the Labourer works in a team setting and is responsible for assisting with construction duties in a safe, productive, and efficient manner. This position involves heavy physical lifting, operating equipment, and supporting daily construction tasks to ensure smooth workflow across departments. The Labourer will be expected to safely use hand and power tools, operate forklifts, and carry out general duties both indoors and outdoors. Duties and Responsibilities: Follows all company procedures and safety protocols Perform pre-operational inspections of mobile equipment General clean up responsibilities Performs general labour including lifting, moving, and staging of products and construction materials Assists with construction-related activities including site preparation, material handling, and supporting trades as required Safely operates a counterbalance forklift for loading, unloading, and transporting materials Use of hand and power tools for construction, assembly and repair tasks Keeps work areas organized, tidy, and safe in compliance with company safety standards Provides support across departments including maintenance, warehouse, and shipping as required Completes assigned construction or plant tasks such as sweeping, debris removal, snow removal, and other general duties Drives company vehicles to pick up and transport materials and supplies The duties listed are provided as examples of area of responsibility and are not intended to create limits to responsibility but to help understand the scope of the position. Qualifications: Education No formal education required, however, must be able to read, write, and comprehend English (both verbal and written) Certifications Counterbalance Forklift Ticket (required) Valid Class Driver''s license with a clean driving abstract (required) Skid steer certification an asset Telehandler certification an asset Air brakes certification an asset Experience Previous construction or labour experience is required Experience working with hand and power tools Operating forklifts and light equipment Skills and Abilities Heavy physical lifting required Operates equipment efficiently and safely Strong eye/hand coordination with ability to perform repetitive motions Safe and effective use of hand and power tools Ability to work independently and in a team environment Working Conditions: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday 10-hour shifts/40-hours per week Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions (dust, dirt, weather exposure) Use of required PPE Ability to work overtime as required Conditions of Employment: Must maintain a valid BC Driver''s License with a clean driving abstract Must maintain current forklift certification Heath Benefits, Wellness Allowance, PPE Allowance & RRSP Matching offered after 3 months of employment.
