Job Description

Our Project Manager/Estimator is primarily responsible for the operations and success for the Custom Homes Division of Tap Roots Plumbing and Heating. This position is expected to provide exceptional service both internally, with employees and externally with customers, suppliers and developers. It is the Project Manager''s responsibility to ensure that all jobs are executed with service and quality top of mind, while meeting deadlines and communicating with customers. This role coordinates closely with the division Forman and Superintendent to ensure all jobs are running smoothly. Roles & Responsibilities: Utilize plumbing experience to accurately estimate Custom Home and Tenant Improvement jobs, including gathering proposals, labour and material costs and providing both numerical and descriptive information on jobs Actively searches and connects with customers and developers for work opportunities and increase division sales; following up with unanswered quotes and making adjustments as needed Motivates the Custom Homes construction team with a positive attitude, on the spot feedback and drives continuous improvement Ensuring customer satisfaction, by creating trust and providing excellent customer service and answering any questions or concerns the customer or homeowner has, including supporting in home design from time to time Description of Duties: Executes projects from start to finish, including estimating job, running site operations, ensuring materials and labour are on budget and wrapping up construction Issues contracts and PO''s, as well as preparing and applying for Plumbing permits as needed Develops close relationships with vendors and subcontractors, by providing information in a timely manner and checking in with expectations for work Takes part in change with a positive attitude, including implementing procedures and systems Collaborates with VP of Operations and Superintendent to implement and document new procedures for the efficiency of the department Contacts wholesalers and suppliers for quotes on parts and material, ensuring the best quality for price Works on the tools when needed to support team, including mentoring apprentice and Journeyman plumbers in department Lead by example and follow all company policies and safety measures as established by Tap Roots or job site Collaborates with Human Resources Manager for personnel aspects, including performance review, evaluating manpower, creating new policies, discipline and team development Participates in weekly and daily catch-up meetings with New Construction Project Manager, on updates of job statuses and plan man power as needed Coordinates with Superintendent where manpower is needed most, communicating site locations to staff What Sets You Apart Proven work history as a Mechanical Project Manager or Coordinator. PMP designation considered an asset Experience managing residential projects, primarily high-rise residential. Strong communication skills clear, concise, and effective, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Committed to collaboration, team success, and high-quality results. Integrity-driven, accountable, and consistent in delivering on responsibilities. Detail-oriented, technically sound, and proactive in problem-solving. Holds a diploma or degree in Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Formal training in plumbing is considered an asset. Ability to travel between the office and job sites. Legally entitled to work full-time in Canada.
