People like you!BenefitsHealth Insurance (includes Virtual Health, and HCSA)Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsuranceLong-term DisabilityShort-term DisabilityRRSP MatchPaid VacationFloating DaysEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Engagement EventsAwards and RecognitionTuition reimbursementService AwardsEmployee Perks & DiscountsResponsibilitiesPrepare and examine accounting records and financial reports for a portfolio of High-Net-Worth individuals, corporations, and partnershipsPrepare files for submission to professional service providers in preparation for meeting tax compliance requirements in Canada, the US and other jurisdictions for a portfolio of High-Net-Worth individuals, corporations and partnerships Assist professional service providers in the preparation of US income tax returns and other requisite forms as required for a portfolio of holding and investment corporationsManage correspondences with tax authorities, reconciliation of tax accounts, and the reports to management and ownersProvide assistance with audits by tax authorities through tax analysis, information gathering and status documentationPlan and implement an income tax compliance process to ensure tax reporting deadlines are metManage external service providers in numerous jurisdictions so that tax and business objectives are met in a cost-efficient and timely manner Collaborate in the planning process and execution of repatriation transactions to identify any tax withholding and liability issues, and propose alternate scenariosWork with the CFO-Family Office on Canadian and multi-foreign jurisdictional tax planning (inbound and outbound) in order to achieve tax and operational efficienciesWork with the CFO-Family Office on special transactions including mergers, acquisitions, business reorganizations and estate planningIdentify and communicate trends and developments in tax which are relevant to High-Net-Worth individuals and corporationsWork Allocation: 40% - Canadian Corporate compliance 20% - Individual Tax Compliance 25 % - Planning & M&A 15% - Corporate distributionsQualificationsProfessional accounting designation CPA 3-5 years of progressive experience with a public accounting firm or a mid-level tax position in industryCompletion or currently enrolled in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course or a Masters of Tax programStrong Excel and Visio skillsHas the ability to work independently Contribute to team objectivesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh-level client service skills including the ability to meet deadlines Familiarity with Canadian tax research tools and tax softwarePrior exposure to US tax rules is beneficialProven experience advising individuals and corporations on income tax issues and general business mattersStrong analytical capability, sound business sense and creative mind Integrity, honesty, and sound judgment regarding confidential matters
