Job Title

Primary Purpose Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors, machinery, with use of manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc. Key Accountabilities Maintenance Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and good troubleshooting techniques. Prepare maintenance reports by Make recommendations as necessary for improvements. Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops. Repair and replace as necessary pumps, valves, motors, etc. Quality Control Perform quality checks on all work performed. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment. Prepare maintenance reports by Make recommendations as necessary for improvements. Other Responsibilities Maintain documentation as required by Atlantic Packaging Required to utilize documentation in CMMS. Install new machines and equipment. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned. Inform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plans. Required Qualifications Education Must have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A Red Seal Journeyman certification Experience Minimum 23-year previous experience in a manufacturing industry Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting. All position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Troubleshooting skills Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees Must be able to read mechanical drawings.
