This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and energetic Project Management Assistant / Project Coordinator to join a project team in the St. You will provide support to our Project Managers and Site Supervisors through all phases of our construction projects, from tender through construction and close-out. Leveraging knowledge of construction processes, you will ensure our client projects are executed on schedule, within budget and at the highest quality. Proactively manage project processes and documents, such as project set up, bid packages, subcontract management, drawings, purchase orders, contracts, building permits, change order requests and pricing, RFIs, RFQs, close out etc. Setup and maintain accurate project information and data in our computerized project management system (CMiC). Review shop drawings for scope and accuracy against schedules. Liaise and build relationships with clients, designers, and sub-contractors. Conduct regular site visits, attend, and participate in client and trade meetings. Provide project accounting support assist with approvals for AP processing and client invoicing, budgets & estimates. Organize the project closeout documentation, including warranties, drawings, manuals, permits etc. Track and communicate regularly with key stakeholders regarding project status and milestones. Provide top notch service to clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders by responding professionally and with a sense of urgency. Regular engagement with site supervisors, safety reps, trade leads and local inspectors. Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering diploma or degree. ~3+ years related experience, preferably in the Commercial Construction/Interior fit-up industry. ~ Proficient in reading and understanding construction-related drawings/documents. ~ Strong knowledge of construction processes through all phases startup through construction and closeout. ~ Tech savvy in Microsoft Office suite and project management software (an asset). ~ Confident, effective, and professional when communicating with clients, designers, subcontractors, and peers. ~ Work under minimal supervision / direction as well as part of a team, sharing information with others as needed. ~ Primary project site in the St. Catherines area, with onboarding in office at 51 Breithaupt Street, Kitchener . Potential for work-related travel. Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons. Mostly on-site, occasionally in-office.
