Senior Environmental Consultant Contaminated Sites GTA Contact Dave Banns ([email protected]) A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join its team in the Greater Toronto Area and work with a high-profile client base. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take charge of complex contaminated site projects, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in driving the business forward. Key responsibilities: The Senior Environmental Consultant will oversee the planning, management, and execution of contaminated site projects, providing technical leadership and client-facing expertise. Projects span environmental site assessments, remediation, risk assessments, hydrogeology, compliance, permitting, monitoring programs, and excess soil management. Responsibilities include: - Lead contaminated site investigations from work plans and budgets to fieldwork and final reporting. - Provide senior technical review and guidance across projects. - Advise clients on contaminated site issues and regulatory requirements. - Drive business development through proposals, presentations, networking, and relationship-building. - Mentor and support junior and intermediate staff. - Contribute to the development of internal protocols and best practices. What the successful candidate will bring: - Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Soil Science, Toxicology, or related discipline. - Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag.) and Qualified Person (ESA or RA). - 10+ years of environmental consulting experience in Ontario. - Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian environmental regulations, including O.Reg. 153/04 and O.Reg. 406/19. - Proven experience filing Records of Site Condition. - Expertise in contaminated site investigation methods (soil/groundwater characterization, borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, sampling). - Demonstrated success in project management, budgeting, and client service. - Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills. - Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within Ontario.
