Senior Paralegal, Commercial Leasing West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. (West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel) Working out of West Edmonton Mall, the Senior Paralegal is responsible for assisting our in-house Leasing Counsel with the preparation, negotiation, and completion of lease documentation and related legal administration matters for the dynamic and high-volume retail leasing portfolio at West Edmonton Mall. Primary Responsibilities Drafting, reviewing, and preparing letters of intention, offers to lease, retail leases, extensions/renewals, assignments, amendments, estoppel certificates, SNDAs, and other leasing and real estate documents. Drafting and assisting with the enforcement of demand letters, notices of default, and notices of termination. Coordinating bailiff seizures. Corporate, personal property security, and land titles registry searches, reviews, and registrations. Completing legal administrative tasks, including document management, correspondence, mailings, filing, tracking, and managing deadlines, reminders, and limitations. Providing administrative oversight for lease administration and related staff in the organization relating to proper lease drafting guidelines, processes, and documentation, as directed by Leasing Counsel. Desired Qualifications At least five (5) years of commercial (preferably retail) leasing experience in a law firm or a commercial real estate company, drafting and negotiating commercial leases and ancillary legal documents. University degree or college diploma (or education in relevant specified field). Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams), Adobe, and experience with lease administration systems. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members in a professional and courteous manner. Professional demeanor, customer service mindset, team spirit, and adaptability. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to synthesize information. In-depth knowledge of leasing legal principles and terminology in the field of real estate. Autonomy, proactivity, and reliability in managing priorities and deadlines. Terms Of Employment This is a full-time position. This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications. Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
