Senior Cost Analyst Employment Type Permanent Location Scarborough, Ontario Apply SHARE THIS JOB Job Description: Our global manufacturing client is looking for a Senior Cost Analyst who will assist the Controller in the assessment of company performance by study and analysis of financial and operational data. The Cost Analyst will act as a catalyst in the continuous improvement process by supplying analytical support to the operational areas. Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Analyst: - Review, develop, and maintain standard costs for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods across all business units. - Analyze cost variances (material, labor, and overhead) and provide actionable insights to operations and management. - Work closely with plant operations and supply chain teams to understand product flows, BOMs, and manufacturing processes. - Assist in the development and optimization of product costing logic, including setup of cost drivers, routings, and BOM groupings (one-to-one or category-based). - Conduct margin and profitability analysis at the material, customer, and product line levels. - Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with accurate cost rollups, inventory valuations, and journal entries. - Collaborate with IT and finance teams to enhance ERP costing functionality and resolve costing discrepancies. - Lead and be responsible for standard cost revaluation processes. - Support internal and external audit processes related to inventory and cost accounting.
