To identify and execute shop floor improvements on existing lines resulting in significant improvements to output and/or costs. To provide technical support the following shop floor processes & equipment: Hot Forging (hammers, upsetters, benders, presses), machining & assembly, robotics (Fanuc, ABB), welding. **Knowledge and Experience** - Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist Diploma with minimum 5 years of hands-on manufacturing / process engineering shop floor experience - Experience in forging, shearing, induction heating, robotics, threading, machining, welding & heat treating is considered a significant advantage - Significant advantage given to those who can qualify to be a CWB Weld Engineer - ISO / IATF exposure is considered an advantage - Good working knowledge of 3D CAD software(Soldiworks) is an advantage. - Proven experience in continuous improvement projects is a must - Self-starter with a strong bias for action is required - Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Responsibilities** - Champion new automation projects - Methodical analysis & implementation of cost improvement projects - Daily support of the shop floor for forging, machining, assembly, welding, heat treat, shearing, threading. - Maintain proper documentation during the execution of projects to support ISO requirements. - Support plant level departments (manufacturing, quality, maintenance) to meet plant goals. - Perform studies, reviews on various projects as required. - If qualified, support internal welding processes, up to an including writing weld procedures - Other duties as assigned.
