Position Summary Tenuretrack position in Hydrogeology/Hydrology. The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenuretrack position at the rank of Assistant Professor in hydrogeology or hydrology. We seek a bilingual (French/English) scientist with an outstanding track record for innovative research in hydrogeology and/or hydrology, with a possible emphasis on northern Canada or impacts from climate change, resource development or carbon mitigation strategies. Candidates with diverse skill sets applied to hydro(geo)logical problems, including modelling, remote sensing, and/or machine learning, are encouraged to indicate if they or their collaborators would leverage existing analytical infrastructure (see below). The start date is July 1, 2026. Responsibilities - Teach hydrogeology (French) and hydrology (French and English). - Supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students. - Develop an externallyfunded research program. - Establish links with industry and government agencies. - Contribute to administrative and academic activities within the department and faculty. Qualifications - PhD in Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. - Postdoctoral experience. - Excellent didactic skills are an asset. - Fluency in French and English; active knowledge of French must be demonstrated at the time of hiring to obtain tenure. - EnglishFrench bilingualism is an asset.
