Role Definition: We are seeking a skilled Truing Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating industrial machines and possess expertise in utilizing various measuring tools, particularly micrometers. The Wheel Lathe Operator will be responsible for performing precision machining of train axles according to specified tolerances and quality standards. Responsibilities: Operate and maintain Truing Lathe machines to produce high-quality finished parts. Perform machining operations on metal components to achieve required dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances. Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize production and maintain quality standards. Inspect finished products using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred. Proven experience operating truing lathe machines in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using measuring tools, specifically micrometers, for accurate dimensional inspection. Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail, precision, and quality craftsmanship. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment. Compensation & Benefits: Rate of pay $28.78 with overtime after 40 hrs worked. $800 retention bonus (paid after probation, subject to all applicable deductions) Comprehensive group benefits package fully funded by Ronsco, with a RRSP contribution match up to 4%.
