DRA Global is a diversified, global engineering, project delivery and operations management group with an impressive track record spanning over three decades.As the Partner of first choice, DRA Global aims to attract, recruit and retain the best talent in the marketplace; in doing so we have developed a solid organizational culture focused on Safety, Integrity, Courage, Innovation, Trust and People to ultimately deliver the best results for clients.We are seeking a Substation Electrical Engineer Protection and Control based out of our Montreal or Toronto Office to lead Electrical Engineering on a global mining project.Responsibilities:Engineering and discipline project design activities relating to concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC projects.Main functions include (but not limited to):Design Engineering, responsible for:Collaboration with Process and Mechanical DepartmentsCollaboration with Utility Power ProvidersUpdate and maintain the electrical database for the projectCable ScheduleElectrical Equipment ListElectrical Equipment DatasheetsHigh, Medium and Low Voltage Single Line DiagramsElectrical Schematic and Wiring DiagramsProcurement of Electrical EquipmentETAP ModellingGrounding studiesHarmonic studiesProtection relay programmingProtection relay testing using secondary current injectionTechnical SupportPackage ManagementConstruction technical supportCommissioningDocumentation and handoverEngineering MentorshipEngineeringUpdate and maintain the electrical database for the project using software such as SQL, EPLANCarry out innovative detailed designs as required for specific disciplines following good engineering practices.Ensure that the discipline designs are carried out in accordance with client standards and specifications, industry standards and the relevant legislation (quality of design).Provide design interface between disciplines.Ensure (certified) design information received from vendors, contractors and consultants is accurate and interfaces with other designs.Ensure the effective (peer) review and approval of discipline design.Carry the responsibility for the engineering discipline sign off.Interface with internal and external design and drafting disciplines.Provide discipline inputs for studies and proposals.Onsite presence to provide engineering support to the contractor.Onsite presence for commissioning discipline activities.Manage the mark-up and back drafting of redline drawings.Manage the discipline engineering handover and support to the clientRequirements:10+ years experience in a similar role within the multi-disciplinary Mining & Minerals Processing EPCM environmentBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering10+ years experience in project engineering & designEmployment type:PermanentWe value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
