Olympia Tile is the largest importer of tile in Canada and a key supplier in the United States.Who Were Looking ForWere seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager who is both a hands-on technician and a strong team leader. This is a working manager role you will lead maintenance operations while being actively involved in completing repairs, conducting inspections, and ensuring all facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who doesnt wait for issues to arise. You naturally look ahead whether that means testing snow blowers before winter, inspecting HVAC systems before peak seasons, or identifying wear-and-tear before it becomes a disruption.This role will mainly support our sites across the Greater Toronto Area, and requires periodic travel to our other branches across Canada to conduct site inspections, perform maintenance, and ensure consistent standards.What Youll DoLeadership & OversightLead, mentor, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians and custodial staff.Delegate tasks while remaining hands-on with repairs and troubleshooting.Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and responsiveness across all facilities.Hands-On MaintenancePerform general building repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and equipment maintenance.Troubleshoot issues quickly and perform reactive maintenance as needed.Support branches directly by traveling to sites for inspections or hands-on maintenance.Preventative & Proactive MaintenanceDevelop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all building systems and equipment.Conduct regular inspections to identify issues before they escalate.Ensure seasonal readiness (e.g., testing snow blowers, preparing winter equipment, reviewing HVAC performance).Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing.Operational ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day maintenance operations across multiple facilities.Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments for major repairs, installations, or renovations.Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.Maintain and monitor the maintenance budget for tools, repairs, equipment, and outsourced work.Obtain quotes for repairs or projects that require external contractors and ensure cost-effective, high-quality work.Evaluate when work should be completed internally vs. externally and manage contractor performance where applicable.What You Bring5+ years of hands-on maintenance or building operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.Strong technical skills across general building maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, carpentry, drywall, and troubleshooting.Demonstrated ability to lead a team while remaining actively involved in the work.Experience developing and executing preventative maintenance programs.Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.Valid Ontario drivers license and willingness to travel between sites, including periodic travel across Canada.Trade certification (e.g., Electrician, Millwright, HVAC Technician) is an asset but not required.What We OfferCompetitive salaryOn-call premium and paid overtime for emergency responseComprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, and more)Paid vacation and holidaysTool and PPE allowanceOpportunities for professional growth in a supportive, hands-on environmentHow to ApplyIf you're ready for a role that blends leadership with hands-on technical work and you take pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and well-run facilities wed love to hear from you.
