Tecnicas Reunidas Canada E&C is part of the Tecnicas Reunidas Group , a global leader in engineering, procurement and construction services for energy and large-scale industrial projects. We are seeking a Senior Contracting Assistant to join our Calgary-based team . This position plays a key role in supporting the Contracting Lead with managing complex qualification and tendering processes for large-scale contractors engaged in major Oil & Gas projects . The role ensures that all bidding companies comply with stringent technical, safety, and regulatory requirements before participating in high-value project opportunities. Additionally, the position is responsible for coordinating activities within the contracting function and overseeing administrative workflows related to bid reception, evaluation, and award execution . Key Responsibilities Assist the Contracting Lead in the qualification and evaluation of large and complex companies during the bidding process. Review and verify documentation submitted by bidders to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with internal teams to gather and validate information related to contractor capabilities and performance history. Prepare detailed reports and summaries to support decision-making by the Contracting Lead. Prepare letters of intent and formal contracts for approvals and issuance. Prepare the Project Inquiry Status Summary and the Project Subcontracts List . Ascertain formal acceptance of letters of intent and formal contracts. Maintain accurate records and ensure transparency throughout the qualification process. Facilitate communication among stakeholders and provide timely progress updates. Ensure that during the tender stage, all commercial information, particularly pricing, is kept strictly confidential among authorized personnel. Assist the H/O Coordinator of Subcontracts Administrator with claims or interpretation of Contract Special Clauses as needed. Keep the Subcontracts Manager and Project Manager informed of all critical issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Preferred Qualifications University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering , or related field (preferred but not mandatory). Minimum 8+ years in contracting, procurement, or vendor qualification for large-scale projects. Proficiency in documentation review and compliance verification . Experience within Oil & Gas, energy , or large-scale infrastructure projects in Alberta or BC. Strong understanding of qualification processes for complex industrial or construction projects. Proven senior-level experience and ability to collaborate effectively with leadership teams. Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills . Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
