Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are seeking an experienced Program Manager for an exciting remote long term contract opportunity with our Government client based in Winnipeg. This position begins with a 6-month term, with an expected total duration of 24 months or longer. 15 plus years of experience managing IT project is required.The Program Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational guidance and direction with a coordinated approach to the management and performance of the program.ResponsibilitiesDevelop an overall understanding of each project in the programOversee and coordinate dependencies across projects within the program.Support planning related to program, project and resourcesEnsure projects adhere to governance standards, policies, and practices within the PMOLiase with stakeholders ensuring communications and reporting for projects within the programWork with project managers to oversee the project lifecycle for all projects within the programProvide direction and strategies to projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, budget, and scopeTrack and report project statuses and KPIs to ensure accountability to project deliverables and performanceEngage in vendor evaluation, selection, and contract negotiationsContribute to PMO processes continuous improvementOther duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 15 years of experience managing Information Technology projectsValid PMP Certification or Prince2 Practitioner certification.Extensive knowledge and experience with project management methodologiesExperience with strategic planningExperience leading and managing a project team within a provincial government settingUnderstanding of provincial government processes, policies and proceduresStrong understanding of information technology, cyber security and its strategic application to businessStrong facilitation and negotiation skillsStrong analysis and problem resolution skillsStrong leadership, organization, and time management, and decision making skillsStrong interpersonal, listening, and conflict resolution skillsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationCriminal background check will be requiredAt Aplin together with our brands CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
