OverviewContract Specialist role at British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC).Posting Date: September 5, 2025. Closing Date: Open until filled.ResponsibilitiesImplements policies and procedures for contracted rail services, and interfaces with business partners and suppliers to ensure all parties obligations and responsibilities are carried out according to the terms and conditions specified.Makes recommendations on policies and procedures regarding contracted rail services. Analyses contracts for conditions that may be subject to interpretation and oversees assigned projects, setting direction and establishing protocols.Provides expertise to others in the company on contract agreements, interpretations and impacts to the organization and in defining operations and maintenance requirements on future major rail contracts.Maintains oversight mechanisms to ensure contractors are meeting the terms and conditions of their agreements, including project reporting, audit processes, incident management, safety and security, payment processes, and operating licenses.Reviews contractor plans and recommends actions or changes including service commencement, start-up, annual operations, maintenance, and communications.Coordinates service requests for assigned special events and follows through on action items.Analyzes and provides input on operational and capital plans, budgets and forecasts.QualificationsEducation and Experience: Typically a bachelors degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience in a similar managerial or professional position executing contractual terms. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.Other Requirements: Advanced knowledge of rail operations principles, theories, concepts and practices; strong analytical and problem solving skills; strong written and verbal communications skills; solid interpersonal and relationship management skills including negotiation for contracts and multiparty agreements; sound computer skills with working knowledge of electronic filing systems and document control.Other InformationRecruitment Process: Standard interview format including general, scenario and behavioural questions.Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week.Work Designation: Resident. This position works predominately on-site.Rate of Pay: $82,400 - $123,600 per annum. Salary offered based on education, experience, skills and qualifications.
