Join to apply for the Senior Safety Advisor, Major Projects role at Federated Co-operatives Limited Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Safety Advisor, Major Projects on a permanent basis on our Health & Safety team. This position requires on-site work at our Coop Refinery Complex (CRC) in Regina, SK. The Safety Advisor, Major Projects plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our people and projects. By championing proactive risk management and fostering a safetyfirst culture, this role ensures that every phase of Major Projects is executed with precision and care. What youll do: Plan and coordinate project safety by conducting risk assessments, aligning safety measures with operational priorities, and collaborating with internal teams and contractors. Integrate safety into engineering deliverables, lead safety reviews, and ensure compliance with regulatory codes and corporate HSE standards. Provide onsite safety leadership during construction, oversee contractor HSE programs, monitor highrisk activities, and drive a strong safety culture. Manage incidents and investigations, ensuring timely reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Develop and maintain safety programs, including HSE management plans, emergency response plans, and safety manuals, while monitoring effectiveness through audits and inspections. Communicate and mentor on safety practices, deliver regular safety updates, participate in committees, and support emergency response roles. Who youll work with: You will work closely with construction/project managers, contractors, and safety personnel at CRC and CEC and will report into the Director, Health & Safety. You will provide advice and guidance and, in some instances, provide directions to all employees, management as well as all contractors regarding Safety issues. Who you are: You are looking for a career in Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) & Sustainability and: Have 69 years of relevant progressive experience as an industrial and construction health and safety or in a related industry. Have a university degree or a 2year certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety through an accredited college with extensive knowledge/experience in the construction and engineering field or equivalent experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered). Have a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation and have the ability to challenge for a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation within 3 years.
