Commercial & Estate Litigation Clerk Join KPMG Canadas Private Enterprise & Family Office practices as a Commercial & Estate Litigation Clerk in Toronto. Overview At KPMG, youll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connecting insight into opportunity for clients and communities worldwide. In our Toronto office, youll support our Commercial and Estate Litigation team, handling matters related to wills, estates, trusts, and civil and commercial litigation. What You Will Do Organize and maintain documents and productions on NetDocuments. Prepare and file documents with the Court, and manage court schedules. Assemble affidavits and briefs, including motion records, application records and appeal books. Draft and prepare simple legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, affidavit of documents, notices, confirmation forms and correspondences. Assist with trial preparation, trial briefs and organizing exhibits. Prepare applications for probate. Review and code documents within eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity. What You Bring To The Role Inoffice requirement: hybrid role, office attendance weekly and adhoc as needed. Option for working from home on appropriate days. Must hold a law clerk certificate or paralegal license. Minimum of 4 years as a law clerk in commercial and estate litigation. Sound knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure. Strong understanding of litigation steps. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as CaseLines/CaseCenter. Knowledge of Estatably, eDiscovery, Relativity, DocuSign and NetDocuments is an asset. Ability to adhere to strict court deadlines and manage demands associated with them. Comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and steps in estate and commercial litigation, able to manage files independently from start to finish. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, deal with changing priorities and meet strict deadlines. Capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.
