The Role The major responsibilities of this position include managing the complete employee benefit plan cycle, consisting of: designing plans which align with the clients human resources objectives; determining the most appropriate funding strategies; financial analysis, estimating of costs and potential cost saving strategies; procuring the most appropriate benefit plan providers through competitive bid processes and negotiations; overseeing the implementation of benefit provider contracts and administrative arrangements; conducting anniversary renewal analysis, negotiating with providers and developing client recommendations; providing training and/or mentorship to benefit analysts and client staff; providing professional advice to resolve escalated claims, administrative or contractual issues; participating as a team member in the marketing of the Firms services to existing and prospective clients; and developing and maintaining harmonious and constructive relationships with clients and benefit providers. Total Rewards Offering Salary of $115,000 to $150,000, plus annual performance bonus. Requirements The desired candidate qualifications for the Group Benefits Consultant position include: a postsecondary degree, preferably coupled with a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation; a minimum of seven years related industry experience, preferably in a consulting environment; good oral and written communication skills; Life Licensed in the Province of BC, or willing to become licensed; analytical and strong problemsolving skills; and ability to effectively work independently as well as within a collaborative team.
