About the Role The Manager, Financial Resource Planning provides senior-level financial leadership, guidance, and detailed analytics, supporting informed decision-making related to university-wide resource allocations, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. The role supports decisions involving organizational resource allocations from the financial planning stage, through modeling, approval and distribution. The role leads a team that develops organizational annual budget projections, prepares monthly and quarterly forecasts, conducts variance analyses, and creates financial models to drive decisions and operational excellence. The role serves as a key strategic collaborator with VP Offices, delivering critical financial insights and collaborating on resourcing models that significantly impact the university, often involving highly confidential information, including labour relations considerations and financial modelling that support strategic institutional priorities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or relevant field, with a professional accounting designation (CPA), and eight years of related experience, including three years of supervisory experience, in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Excellent knowledge of Excel for strategic financial modeling, financial forecasting, analysis, and reporting. - Excellent organizational, quantitative, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and time management skills. - Excellent financial analysis, budget planning, and financial management skills. - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to resolve complex financial issues and provide strategic recommendations. - Proficient knowledge in higher education financial regulations, grant management principles, and public-sector accounting standards.
