Finance Project Manager Location: Toronto or Remote Duration: Contract-to-Permanent (4 months to start) A leading global organization is seeking a highly organized Finance Project Manager with strong experience leading Joint Venture, monetization, mergers, divestitures, and capital markets initiatives. This role requires a solid finance background and proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional projects with precision and rigor. Key Responsibilities: Leadership in Execution Program Leadership & Governance: Establish and enforce best-in-class project governance across all major initiatives, ensuring disciplined structure, clear accountability, and adherence to PMP/PRINCE2 methodologies. End-to-End Transaction Management: Lead the complete project lifecycle for Strategic xScale JV initiatives, refinancing efforts, and capital markets transactions, driving alignment and execution across Treasury, Capital Markets, Tax, and Legal teams. Due Diligence Command: Direct and coordinate comprehensive due diligence activities (financial, tax, legal, operational), acting as the central hub to ensure all documentation is rigorously maintained and insights are actionable. Stakeholder Alignment & Reporting: Serve as the primary, trusted communicator to executive sponsors and JV partners. Develop and present clear, concise, executive-level reports detailing project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Resource & Dependency Optimization: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation models for a concurrent portfolio of initiatives, proactively managing constraints and ensuring timely milestones. Critical Cutover Planning: Own the planning and management of all cutover activities to ensure a seamless, operationally sound transition and readiness for transaction closing. Mandatory Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive experience in Program/Project Management, with a minimum of 5 years focused exclusively on Corporate Development or Capital Markets transactions. Essential Transactional Experience: Proven, direct experience leading complex projects within Joint Ventures, Divestitures, Monetizations, and Capital Markets (e.g., refinancing, IPO readiness) is non-negotiable. Professional Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent Chartered Accountant designation is highly preferred and a significant differentiator. Project Management Rigor: Required certification in a recognized methodology (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Program Management certification ). Due Diligence Mastery: Deep knowledge of the entire due diligence lifecycle, particularly the financial and tax components, and collaboration with external advisors (investment banks, legal counsel, consultants). Preferred Skills & Attributes: Prior hands-on experience in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Reporting before transitioning into a specialized Project Management role.
