Reporting to the Sr. Coordinator, Operations Project Execution, your primary responsibility is to identify the tasks and resources required to execute construction work packages. This role is responsible for determining job steps for all trades in the OCT organization: electrical, instrumentation and 3rd party services. The role is 40% field based, 60% office based. Roles & Responsibilities: Responsible to provide planning expertise in a construction environment for projects in an operating SAGD plant and associated field locations. Responsible to ensure company visions, values & business strategies are communicated, understood, and implemented. Responsible to ensure the departmental strategy is being executed. Accountable to create a plan that will ensure the safe, efficient & high-quality execution of construction projects. Adhere to site processes, business flows, procedures & standard practices. Accountable to support and champion client's safety initiatives. Lead by example to make OCT an inclusive, positive workplace free of negativity, harassment, and bullying, for all team members (staff, contractors, and service providers). Accountable to attend all MOC prioritization team meetings. Attend and participate in team safety meetings. Accountable to ensure all construction is compliant with all applicable codes and standards and specifications. Responsible to provide cost Construction to Engineering. Accountable to ensure all construction is in-line with estimates and schedule projections. Relay any significant cost/schedule differences to the Facility/Project Engineer. Responsible to periodically monitor Engineering Field request notifications. Responsible to create job steps and input those into SAP. Responsible to ensure changes in scope execution are effectively communicated to engineering through RFCs, during the planning stage through phone calls to be made to Engineering prior to submitting RFCs. Accountable to communicate information that informs your cross shift that would be relevant to the successful planning and execution of the MOC. Core Responsibilities Develop detailed E/I construction work packages (CWPs) and job plans. Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical/instrumentation schematics. Plan and schedule E/I activities in alignment with project timelines and budgets. Coordinate with procurement for material availability and ensure proper staging. Collaborate with all project stakeholders to develop and maintain an integrated, cohesive execution plan. Typical Skills Technical Knowledge: o Electrical systems (power distribution, MCCs, transformers). o Instrumentation (control valves, transmitters, analyzers). o Cable routing, terminations, and loop checks. Planning Tools: o SAP or similar ERP systems for work order management. o Proficient in excel Documentation: o Skilled in estimating and budgeting for capital projects within the $50K$2M range. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to align diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities with adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Proven ability to thrive and contribute effectively within high-performance teams. Experience Years of Experience: 10+ years in oil & gas projects, with at least 23 years in planning roles. Project Types: o Greenfield and brownfield construction. o Turnarounds and maintenance projects. Certifications Must hold a valid Electrical trade certification; dual ticket (Electrical & Instrumentation) highly preferred.
