About the RoleOur client, a top startup in the AI travel space, is seeking a QA Tester is responsible for the continuous, daily execution of a predefined suite of tests to guarantee the stability of existing software functionalities. This role is highly detail-oriented and focuses on adherence to established procedures within a non-sprint-based workflow. The main objective is to act as a critical safeguard against unintended bugs resulting from daily code updates.Key ResponsibilitiesContinuous Daily QA: Perform quality assurance activities on a daily basis to provide immediate feedback on the softwares stability.Scripted Regression Testing: Execute pre-existing, scripted regression test cases precisely as documented. This involves following step-by-step instructions and expected results.Defect Identification and Reporting: Accurately identify, document, and report any deviations or defects found during test execution to the development team using a bug-tracking system.Adherence to Existing Documentation: The initial focus is strictly on following existing test cases and documentation, with no immediate requirement for creating new test plans or complex automation scripts.Communication: Collaborate with developers and other team members to ensure issues are clearly understood, retested after fixes, and resolved efficiently.Documentation and Analysis: Document test results thoroughly and help compile reports on the status of the softwares quality and the outcomes of test cycles.Qualifications5+ years of professional QA experience.Currently in an IC role and actively engaged in hands-on work (not management).Experience analyzing features and writing/improving test casesStrong manual testing background on consumer or smb-facing software (web products a plus)Skilled at logging high-quality defects (clear repro steps, evidence, expected vs actual, impact, collecting logs)Startup/small-company experience; comfortable in low-process, low-documentation, fast-moving environmentsSome test automation exposure (able to understand/maintain/add small tests over time)Meticulous, curious/inquisitive, fast learner, crisp communicator, calm and constructive in conflict, strong user-advocate mindsetAvailable to work onsite in Ottawa (150 Isabella) 5 days a weekWho You AreA force of nature — a builder who ships fast and gets things done.Obsessed with quality, scalability, and impact.A true power IC who thrives in high-growth, startup environments.
