Job Description

CCI does not sponsor work visas.The Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), Species at Risk Branch (SARB), is seeking a Business Architect to support the transition from the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) to the new Species Conservation Act, 2025 (SCA), introduced under Bill 5 Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025.This role will focus on updating and delivering Business Architecture artifacts, specifically the Business Architecture Document (BAD), aligned to SCA 2025 and supporting the ministrys newly launched ESA Portal.Mandatory Skills & Experience:3+ years of experience in a Business Architect roleProven experience creating and delivering Business Architecture deliverables (e.g., BAD)Strong experience working with Architecture Governance checkpoints (Points 1, 2 & 3)Experience collaborating with Cluster / Corporate Architecture Review teamsAbility to analyze legislation, policy, and organizational structures and translate them into architecture artifactsNice to Have Skills:Experience working in Government or Public Sector environmentsFamiliarity with regulatory or legislation-driven programsKey Responsibilities:Update the existing Business Architecture Document (BAD) to align with Species Conservation Act (SCA) 2025Prepare and deliver Architecture Governance Point 1, 2, and 3 documentationResearch and incorporate new SCA requirements and MECP organizational structure into the BADAddress and resolve architecture review logs in collaboration with Cluster Architecture teamsFinalize and deliver an approved BAD aligned to SCA 2025Stakeholder & Communication Responsibilities:Develop presentations, diagrams, and models to communicate architecture conceptsAdvise business stakeholders, managers, and executivesPlan and lead cross-functional meetings and working sessionsKnowledge Transfer Requirements:Ongoing knowledge transfer through regular meetings and working sessionsTransfer all artifacts, designs, and documentation to ministry repositoriesParticipate in formal knowledge transfer sessions during project close-outEvaluation CriteriaBusiness Architecture expertise 50%Stakeholder communication 40%Public sector experience 10%
