As a Senior Backend Engineer, youll work crossfunctionally to scope and implement impactful solutions that increase the speed, capacity, and quality of EvenUps document generation engine. Youll be a highownership selfstarter focused on enduser value, driving innovations core to our mission: ensuring personal injury victims receive the compensation they deserve. What Youll Do - Enhance EvenUps AInative and expertreview document workflows. - Implement and integrate LLMbased solutions to improve customer outcomes. - Develop systems to evaluate the efficacy and quality of key customer deliverables. - Contribute to the evolution of AIdriven document products at the cutting edge of innovation. - Collaborate with company leaders on missioncritical opportunities to supercharge the EvenUp engine. - Uphold a highquality engineering bar, applying datadriven insights to create exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities - Contribute to endtoend AInative workflow development, integrating SaaS and AI applications, and rapidly prototyping features. - Collaborate with founders, PMs, and designers to brainstorm, scope, and launch new features. - Establish engineering best practices and lead architectural design; build userfacing experiences, services, APIs, and systems. - Deliver secure, compliant code for sensitive data; maintain software quality through testing, reviews, and ongoing optimization. - Mentor team members, contribute feedback, and foster a collaborative team culture. - Participate in oncall rotations, address operational issues, and document processes to align with company and industry standards. What We Look For - Extensive experience building frameworks, libraries, and distributed systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance. - Proven proficiency in Python or other languages such as Go, Java, Node.js, or C++. - Track record of delivering productionready code, RESTful APIs, and managing infrastructure to industry standards. - Experience leading complex projects from concept through deployment, with clear, structured thinking and technical leadership. - Ability to thrive in dynamic, fastpaced environments, such as startups, with strong collaboration skills. - Excellent communication skills and a history of successful crossfunctional teamwork. - Strong ownership, creativity, and initiativedriven to solve problems and deliver results autonomously. - Bonus: Experience in AI, legal tech, or social impact projects.
