WaveRydes product is in the final stages of full productization.The WaveRyde team includes pioneering leaders in quantum sensors and wireless technologies.To address the demand and scale-up of manufacturing, WaveRyde is looking for a driven, result-oriented leader for manufacturing engineering to help establish the foundation for scaling manufacturing for its commercial and defense markets.Job Description:We are seeking a full-time leader for manufacturing engineering to join our team on-site in Waterloo, Canada. In this role, youll be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability, scalability, compliance, and reliability of WaveRydes solution that integrates electronics (FPGA & Analog/RF), optoelectronics (lasers, photodetectors), and optical components (fiber optics). The role requires hands-on experience with mid-volume (1,000s) systems manufacturing; collaboration with cross-functional teams consisting of R&D scientists and engineers, suppliers, contract manufacturers; and strategic partners.Key responsibilities:Lead Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and scale-up efforts for enterprise-class products.Work closely with R&D and production teams to optimize electronics, optoelectronics, and optical systems for manufacturing.Develop and implement cost-reduction and reliability improvement strategies.Manage relationships with OEMs, ODMs, and manufacturing partners to streamline and scale production.Ensure compliance with industry and military standards (Mil-Std-Class desirable).Collaborate on supply chain management to optimize component sourcing and logistics.Work with R&D and production teams to lead, develop, and maintain quality controlRequired qualifications:B.S. in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).Direct experience with mid-volume (1,000s) manufacturing.Proven expertise in Design-for-Manufacturability for complex systems integrating electronics, optoelectronics, and optics.Ability to lead a small team and constructively work with R&D leadPreferred:Proven experience in implementing Design-for-Reliability (DFR) principles.
