G&C Logistics prides itself on delivering seamless, efficient, and customer-focused logistics services from start to finish.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Team Lead Freight Forwarder for a full-time, on-site role in Mississauga, ON. The Team Lead will oversee daily freight forwarding operations, coordinate shipments, and coordinating with clients and various stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics processes. Responsibilities include managing a team, facilitating ocean and air shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing the supply chain to meet client needs. The role requires effective problem-solving and leadership skills to drive operational success in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities Thorough knowledge and technical understanding of filings like eManifest and CERSCoordinate with the overseas agent network to move international freight (Ocean & air, both imports and exports)Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping instruction, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificate of origin, export declarations for import/export shipmentsNegotiate competitive rates and terms with air/ocean carriers and GSAs for preparing air and ocean freight quotesHandle incoming inquiries and respond to RFQs; prepare a quotation packet for presentation to the customer for their desired service levels and mode i.e. CIP by air, EXW via OceanLiaise with the various stakeholders including the Shipping Lines, co-loaders, truckers and warehousesEnsure shipments are billed in a timely manner, vendor payables processed and comply with month end requirementsQualifications3+ years of experience in operations side of freight forwarding, in an import/export role for air and/or ocean shipmentsExperience in logistics services, including trucking, freight forwarding, and customs brokerageProficiency in managing a supply chain, including overseeing shipments and warehouse operationsStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead a high-performing team and liaise with clientsDetailed knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards like INCOTERMSSkilled in problem-solving and decision-making under pressureProficiency with logistics software and tools such as Global freight (Descartes) experience would be an advantage; familiarity with Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work on-site and collaborate effectively with various stakeholdersPost-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is an asset
