Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance/Electrician Lead to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.NOTE: Onsite Must be willing and able to travel domestically and to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record Work weekends as requiredRESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operationsOversee and direct the activities of a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely mannerComply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activitiesDevelop maintenance strategies, and programs and make improvements to existing policiesTroubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled tradesOversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing and facility equipmentDevelop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policiesPoint of contact for janitorial services contractPerform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickupsProcure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasksPrioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availabilityTrack data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, equipment uptime, etc.Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requestsMaintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliersMonitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipmentREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma for Electrical Engineering technologist or a licensed electrician (442A) 5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefitExperience in a unionized labour environmentWillingness to accept a wide variety of assignmentsKnowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations relating to industrial maintenance activitiesKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer-based and web-based programsStrong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skillsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:$37.00 - 41.00 / hour (depending on experience)Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
