What You''ll Do As a Thermal Design Engineer, you will: Lead thermal and mechanical design of air coolers, shell & tube heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, and sulfur condensers. Perform thermal and vibration analyses , ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications. Review, check, and approve engineering workproviding technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Support proposals by preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and technical input during bid stages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Business Development) to align solutions with project and client goals. Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions. Stamp/sign deliverables as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng). Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, leveraging digital tools, and embedding energy efficiency and sustainability in design. What You Bring Required Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 1015 years'' experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA. Proficiency with HTRI software and proven expertise in thermal analysis & vibration. Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design codes (ASME, API, ABSA). Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Requirements/Assets Active P.Eng. designation. Structural engineering experience. Work Environment Primarily office-based in Calgary, WFH 5 days/month, with occasional shop visits. Minimal travel required.
