Job Description

Mid-sized infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager to provide coordination and management duties on projects involving both heavy civil and mechanical aspects. The role includes assisting in scheduling construction works (material & equipment acquisition, subtrades), archiving project documentation, and tracking job costs and progress. The primary responsibility is to supply the Project Manager and Superintendent with accurate and current project information upon request. Reporting to the Project Manager/Superintendent, this full-time permanent role offers growth opportunities, including managing smaller projects as experience develops. Primary Responsibilities: - Assist the Commissioning Manager, Superintendent, and Project Manager with project performance, scheduling, coordination, cost tracking, and documentation. - Build and maintain relationships with project owners, consultants, suppliers, and subtrades. - Coordinate construction tasks, equipment, system commissioning activities, and archive all related documentation. - Maintain accurate RFI and RFQ logs and administer both. - Keep detailed records and daily photographs. - Manage files for shop drawings, change orders, and submittals. - Create drawings and mockups as needed. - Assist in reporting job performance, costs, forecasts, and safety metrics. - Develop and maintain knowledge of project specifications and drawings. - Oversee site documentation, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections. - Handle project close-out activities, including archiving documents, manuals, and deficiency management. - Participate in basic layout and field engineering activities. - Prepare 'as-built' drawings as required. Skills / Qualifications: - Post-secondary degree or diploma in science, engineering, or construction management. - Willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and adaptability to various environments. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word; experience with CAD, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam REVU is a plus. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Valid drivers license. - Strong relationship-building skills with owners, consultants, coworkers, and suppliers. - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure. - Experience with water/wastewater construction techniques, drawings, and materials is advantageous.
