Senior Software Engineer (React-leaning) Were scaling our Product & Engineering organisation and expanding our Sydney hub, and were looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep React expertise who wants to build, ship, and shape a global SaaS product used and loved by leading law firms around the world. If you love being close to users and UI, this role will feel like home. While your strength is in React/TypeScript, youll work across the full stack to ship end-to-end features as part of a collaborative, cross-functional squad with Product & Design, and help define the patterns, architecture, and frontend quality bar as we scale. Were looking for someone who brings strong technical depth, product intuition, and a high level of ownership someone who raises the bar, uses AI to accelerate their workflow, and knows how to balance autonomy with collaboration. Job requirements Must haves: - Strong experience building React/TypeScript applications - Comfort working full-stack, especially with Ruby on Rails - Good instincts around UX, UI quality, and usercentred design - Experience building and shipping in SaaS or fastmoving tech environments - Strong debugging, testing, and performance awareness - Ability to take ownership, operate autonomously, and drive outcomes - Comfortable solving ambiguous or complex problems - Strong collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, and Design - Understanding of security best practices (auth, permissions, data protection) - Solid grounding in performance, logging, monitoring, and tracing - Growth mindset + drive to raise the bar - Fluency using AI tools as part of your engineering workflow Nice to haves: - Experience in multitenant, dataheavy applications - Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or realtime communication protocols (WebSockets) - Exposure to AI/LLM application development - Experience working in crossfunctional squads - Exposure to React Native or Python - Familiarity with Marketing Tech, CRMlike systems, or workflow automation products - Experience in LegalTech or Professional Services tech - Knowledge of DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code or cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) - Experience mentoring engineers or influencing engineering culture - Experience in earlystage or scaleup environments Job responsibilities - Build polished, highquality interfaces using React + TypeScript - Ship fullstack features, contributing to backend work in Rails + Python - Work closely with Product & Design to create simple, intuitive user experiences - Improve frontend performance, maintainability, accessibility, and consistency - Help evolve our frontend architecture, components, and design system - Debug issues across the stack (starting with the UI) - Use AI tools to move faster from coding to testing to documentation - Mentor engineers and help lift our engineering bar - Influence standards, patterns, and longterm frontend direction LifeatNexl - High growth.
