Through strong sector relationships and hands-on coordination including convening more than 20 cross-sector partners weekly CHF improves responsiveness, reduces barriers, and drives a unified approach to ending homelessness. The Opportunity: Director, Data & Analytics: The Director, Data & Analytics (the Director) reports to the Vice President, Community Impact (VPCI) and serves as an integral part of the full leadership team, providing both strategic expertise and guidance and operational oversight of the Calgary Homeless Foundation''s (CHF''s) data and analytics functions. The Director, Data & Analytics, is the principal designer of CHF''s data warehouse and is accountable for the oversight and continuous improvement of the CHF data strategy. The Director strengthens CHF''s capacity and credibility to harness complex data sets, transforming insights into strategies that guide the fight against homelessness. This role combines strategic thinking with operational leadership to continue to advance CHF''s culture of data maturity. The Director champions processes that transform data into actionable insights and, working closely with the CHF leadership team, ensures these insights are effectively communicated to partners in the Homeless Serving System of Care (HSSC) to drive informed decision-making and system impact. Externally, the Director will cultivate and strengthen collaborative relationships with multiple partners who intersect within a community-based data collection system, to positively influence homelessness data standardization practices at the local community, provincial and federal levels. The Director, Data & Analytics oversees two teams, with two direct reports, the Manager, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Manager, Business Intelligence. This role works in close partnership with the Director, Programs & Evaluation, who is a critical part of the leadership team and the Community Impact division. Accountabilities and Deliverables: Maintain and enhance CHF''s data governance frameworks and system architecture by ensuring clear policies, defined roles, and compliance across CHF and the Homeless-Serving System of Care. Oversee the evolution of data structures to support scalability, interoperability, and integration. Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency while leading integration strategies to unify data sources. Ensure robust security and privacy frameworks to safeguard sensitive information and maintain compliance with privacy legislation and CHF''s cyber security requirements, aligned with CHF''s overall technology and cyber security strategies. Optimize data reporting platforms and ensure reporting is consistent, reliable, efficient, and leverages automation to support evidence-based decision-making. Drive the development of business intelligence and predictive analytics to inform decision-making and measure impact. Maximize community access to meaningful data by improving reporting platforms and processes to deliver timely, high-value reports that clearly communicate actionable insights, aligned with the CHF Stakeholder Engagement Strategy. Implement ongoing monitoring mechanisms and feedback loops to optimize data processes, systems, and performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across CHF and the Homeless Serving System of Care. Implement best practices to build, implement and performance manage a data-driven culture that is agile and responsive. Lead the Analytics and HMIS Application Support functions to ensure optimal and accurate data collection practices across the Calgary HSSC community. Lead information sharing initiatives regarding internal data, and cross-sector integration efforts. Serve as the subject matter expert (building shared understanding) on CHF''s data internally and support the CHF executive to communicate data insights effectively with government and media. Develop an applied research strategy in collaboration with the VP, Community Impact and Director, Programs and Evaluation, leveraging partnerships with researchers, institutions, and other sources of expertise to drive innovation and evidence-informed practice. Demonstrate and promote CHF''s leadership competencies and represent CHF as an integral part of the full leadership team across the organization Provide coaching and feedback habits to support the development and performance of direct reports and their teams and work with the VPCI to support the goals and objectives of CHF and the Community Impact Division. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent with a focus in Data Sciences, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or Economics. Master''s degree would be an asset. 5 years'' leadership experience, and/or progressive role accountabilities, in leading business analysis, project and program delivery, solution design, business analytics and reporting, data architecture, and inquiry capabilities. Strong background and understanding of best practice for master data management and data quality. Strong background and understanding of data governance, data quality, and business intelligence combined with a diverse skill set in qualitative and quantitative techniques to drive data analytics and to lead data analysis. Strong background and understanding of data tools, languages, and platforms, such as SQL, Python, Azure, and Qlik Demonstrated analytical skills and knowledge to design and implement statistical models in major statistical analysis software packages. Proficiency with business intelligence software solutions.
